Bane of the Talebearer is a multi-media passion project fronted by composer, writer and producer Tom de Wit. This project contains a Soundtrack album (Spanning multiple music genres), an audiodrama/podcast and an (in early development) jRPG videogame all based on an epic story featuring an extensive fantasy world inhabited by many colorful characters.

With Rezalah being a fantasy world, it's safe to say that there are many different races to be found. And the Razorclaw Tribe of wolves is one of the most iconic.

A tribe that lives in harmony with the nature surrounding them, ruled over by a benevolent chill dudebro who seems to want to enjoy life to the fullest and care for everyone he deems family.

Brother Broken Claw is the figurehead of the tribe, inspiring confidence and peace among his brethren and sisters. He is however... Not exactly concerned with intellectual pursuits. (And that's an understatement) Often throwing himself into adventures that he does not oversee the consequences off. Which is also how we meet him in the Bane of the Talebearer story. But that will reveal itself over time.

Is he a bit dumb? Yes. Is he ridiculously strong? Also yes. Is he one of the best guys to have on your team when you are in a bind? AB-SO-LUTE-LY.

Regarding voice acting for Brother Broken Claw... We don't have someone for this guy yet. 😉 We do have an idea of how he should sound though. So if you are the American/Australian sounding dudebro with a heart of gold we are looking for (totally radical bruh) then hit us up. Bonuspoints if you happen to sound like Kronk from Emperor's New Groove btw.

🎨 New Artists Introduction: Mel & Rin! 🎨

Normally on friday, we would introduce just one new character... But now we are introducing THREE!

Two new artists have joined the Talebearer project! Bane Of The Talebearer was always envisioned as a project that featured multiple artstyles & disciplines from the start. And today we can proudly introduce you to the work of both @gesgsheffield (Mel Gibbons) and @kazemoron (Rin)!

Mel's expressive colored art will become the basis for the YouTube show that will start in January of 2025. Her expressive, dynamically colored, cartoon-like artstyle was exactly the vibe I was looking for for this show!

Rin takes over the mantle from Denice (@the.art.fish ) as she will be making the cast that Mel is also working on, in a more ornate fantasy based lineart style that you will see on the website, the booklets and more. This allows us to present the complete cast of this adventure in two very distinct styles that we are incredibly excited about!

But who is this character? Be patient! You can all expect a full post about this new bad-ass lady tonight! Stay tuned!

🎵 Bane Of The Talebearer collaborator reveal - Tristan Turner 🎵

Providing the low end for the Bane Of The Talebearer soundtrack, we present to you, Mr Tristan Turner! ( @scrabulot on most socials! )

You might know him as the bassplayer for @abrahamsarache and as an avid fan of many different kinds of music. Tristan and myself (Tom, the creator) have been bonding over our shared love of music, videogames and storytelling on multiple occasions. (Sometimes involving a drink we like to refer to as "big boy juice" around a certain nightly campfire at a festival we both love.) So when it was time to find a bass player for this project it was a no brainer to ask Tristan to play on this and he graciously accepted!

And thanks to his range of skills on the instrument, Tristan will not just play electric bass, but also acoustic, and cellobass parts on this album, really rounding out the overal sound and experience.

Recordings for the bass are underway now (As can be heard in the vid!) and more info about the characters and more musical collaborators will follow in the coming weeks and months!

First post here! Bane Of The Talebearer now has profiles on Instagram and Facebook (and more are following soon!)! They seem a bit empty still, but that makes sense, as we only just started on those. 😉

This was done for the very simple reason that this project is growing bigger & more people get involved by the day. So a centralized social media place helps a lot with concentrating all info in one place.

Of course I will also share stuff about it on my own profiles (I mean, this is my baby after all) but this keeps things a bit more organized.
